Steven Thomas
Growing up in a Christian home in Burlington, NC, Steve learned the value of the church as community. Although he did not realize it at the time, a focus on solid Biblical preaching and faithfulness to God’s house were to have significant impact in his later ministry. After attending North Carolina State University and Piedmont Bible College (now Piedmont International University), Steve and his wife Jean settled in Taylors, SC where he attended Bob Jones University. The leading of the Lord has been obvious as he has served in various capacities from deacon to Sunday school teacher and seven years as Administrator of Calvary Christian School in Greer, SC. He has sought to follow the Lord always asking “Lord, what will you have me to do?” This led him to Grace Community Bible Church in 2006, where, as pastor, he continues to seek God’s direction through Solid Bible preaching and fellowship. He lives in Simpsonville with his wife, Jean, and enjoys woodworking and spending time with his family (and their families) — 3 children (Joshua, Nathan, and Stephanie) and 6 grandchildren. His life verse is Colossians 1:18c “…that in all things He might have the preeminence.”
