The Holy Scriptures – we believe the Holy Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God, and the final authority for faith and life, inerrant and infallible in the original writings.
(Ps. 119:105, Is 8:20, I Tim 3:16, II Peter 1:20-21)
The Godhead – We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – co-equal in power and glory.
(Duet. 6:4, II Cor 13:14)
The Person and Work of Christ – We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man.
(Luke 1:35, John 1:1-2, John 1:14)
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice, and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead.
(Rom 3:24-25, Eph 1:7, I Pet 2:24, I Pet 1:3-5) - We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfils the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, Advocate.
(Acts 1:9, Rom 8:34, Heb 9:24, I John 1:1-2) - We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ shall return to receive the saints at an hour known only to the Heavenly Father, and that because the time of His coming is hidden; believers should live in a state and attitude of constant readiness for His return. We believe that in God’s proper time there shall be a Tribulation period, and that the Lord Jesus Christ shall set up His Millennial Kingdom on the earth.
(John 14:3, I Th 4:13-18, Tit 2:15, Rev 19:11-16, Rev 20:1-6)
The Work of the Holy Spirit – We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, and that He indwells the soul of all believers, sealing them unto the day of redemption.
(John 16:8-11, Rom 8:9, I Cor 12:12, II Cor 3:6, Eph 1:13-14)
- We believe that He is the divine Teacher who guides believers into all truth, speaking in the Scriptures, and that it is the privilege as well as the duty of all the saved to be filled with and controlled by the Holy Spirit.
(John16:13, Eph 5:18) - We believe sanctification in the Holy Spirit to be the work of God’s free grace, whereby we are renewed in the whole man after the image of God, and are enabled step by step to live unto righteousness and true holiness.
(Rom 6:6, Rom 6:14, Rom 8:4, II Cor 7:1, Eph 4:23, Heb 12:14) - We believe that the spiritual gift of tongues as an evidence of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit ceased with the close of the Apostolic period of church history, and that any so-called charismatic utterances in the present age are not ordained of God.
(I Cor 13:8-11, I Cor 14:20-22)
Creation – We believe that God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, in the beginning, by the word of his power, made from nothing the heavens and the earth and all things therein within the space of six 24-hour days, and all very good.
(Gen 1, Ex 21:11, Jer 10:12)
The Personality of Satan – We believe that Satan is a person, the author is sin, and the cause of the fall; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and that he shall be eternally punished in the lake of fire.
The Total Depravity of Man – We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. We believe that man is, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.
(Gen 1:26-27, Rom 3:22-23, Rom 5:12, Eph 2:1-3)
Salvation – We believe that salvation is the gift of God bought to man by grace and received by repentance from sin and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His shed blood.
(John 1:12, Eph 2:8-9, Heb 10:19, Heb 12:24, Heb 9:25-26, I Pet 1:18-19, Rev 1:5)
The Assurance of Believers – We believe it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh and clearly warns believers to avoid unbelief and licentiousness.
(Rom 13:13-14, Gal 5:13, Tit 2:11-15, Heb 3:12-13, Heb 6:9)
The Two Natures of Believers – We believe that throughout this earthly life every saved person possesses two(2) natures with the provision made for victory of the new nature over the old nature though the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. We believe that the final and complete victory shall be accomplished at our glorification after this life is spent.
(Rom 6:13, Eph 4:22-24, Col 3:10, I John 3:5-10)
Obligations of Believers – We believe that it is the obligation of the redeemed to witness by life and by word to the truths of the Holy Scriptures and to seek to proclaim the Gospel to all mankind. All believers are under obligation to contribute by prayers, gifts, and personal effort to the extension of the Gospel throughout the whole earth.
(Mk 16:15, Acts 1:8, II Cor 5:19-20)
- We believe that the saved should live in such a manner that they should not bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord, and that separation from all religious apostasy, all sinful pleasures, practices, and associations is commanded of God.
(II Cor 5:19-20, II Tim 3:1-5, I John 2:15-17, II John 1:8-11)
The Church – we believe that the Church, which is the body of the espoused bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all-born again persons.
(I Cor 12:12-24, Eph 1:22-23, Eph 5:25-27)
- We believe that the establishment and the continuation of local churched is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures.
(Acts 14:27, Acts 20:17, Acts 28:32, I Tim 3:1-13)
The Eternal State – We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men – the saved unto eternal life in Heaven, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment.
(Matt 25:46, John 5:28-29, John 11:25-26, Rev 20:5-6, Rev 20:12-13)
- We believe that the spirits of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where in conscious bliss they await the first resurrection.
(Luke 23:43, Phil 1:23, Phil 3:21, I Th 4:16-17, Rev 20:4-6) - We believe that the spirits of the unregenerate remain, after death in conscious misery until the second resurrection when the shall appear at the Great White Throne Judgment and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire – not to be annihilated, but to suffer everlasting conscious punishment.
(Matt 25:41-46, Luke 16:19-26, II Th 1:7-9, Jude 6:7, Rev 20:11-15)
Authority of the Statement of Faith – Our statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe. We do believe, however, that the statement of faith accurately represents the teachings of the Bible and, therefore, is binding upon all members, staff, and volunteers. All literature, whether print or electronic, used in the church shall be in complete agreement with the statement of faith. All activities permitted or performed in any facilities owned, rented, or leased by this church or engaged in by any member of the church staff (volunteer or paid) and all decisions of the administration of this church shall not conflict with the statement of faith. In all conflicts regarding interpretation of the statement, the pastor and board, on behalf of the church, have the final authority.
Marriage and Sexuality – We believe that the term marriage has only one legitimate meaning, and that is marriage sanctioned by God, which joins one man and one woman in a single covenantal union as delineated by Scripture. Marriage ceremonies performed in any facility owned, leased, or rented by this church will be only those ceremonies sanctioned by God, joining one man and one woman as their genders were determined at birth. Whenever there is a conflict between the church’s position and any new legal standard for marriage, the church’s statement of faith, doctrines, and biblical positions will govern. (Gen. 2:24; Eph. 5:22-23; Mark 10:6-9; 1 Cor. 7:1-9)
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of marriage as defined above. We believe that any other type of sexual activity, identity, or expression that lies outside of this definition of marriage, including those that are becoming more accepted in the culture and the courts, are contradictory to God’s natural design and purpose for sexual activity. (Gen. 2:24; Gen.19:5; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom. 1:26-29; 1 Cor. 5:1; 6:9-10; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb 13:4
